Shining bright and being your true authentic self can be scary! Humans, by nature, are all very different and that's ok. We were meant to be. A world where we were all the same would be very boring. We are all shaped differently by our live experiences, views and perspectives. No two of us are the same.
Yet, as society would have it, we have been shaped and moulded to believe that we have to live a certain way because that is what is expected of us. It is part of our conditioning. You may have been conditioned to think that your life purpose is to go to a school, get a degree, land a good job, buy a house, get married and raise a family. These ideals can place a lot of pressure on people. I’m not saying that expectation don’t have their place in society. It helps us to find our way. Sometimes, it even helps us work out what we DON’T want. The problem I have with conditioning is that it teaches us that the straight and narrow path is the best and only way to live. We find that in the schooling system… if a child doesn’t learn the specific way they are taught there is something wrong with them. And as we get older to live outside the norm is considered weird, strange or different.
But I believe we are all born with a gift to share with the world and we have the power to choose how and when we use our gift to uplift and inspire people around us. I believe we have infinite possibilities available to us and we can change our path at any given time.
When you start to unwrap your gift, you will discover more layers, much like a flower. And this is where the magic happens. Life will begin to change and life will begin to get better and better. Once we see that live itself is organic and there is no one single way to live, infinite possibilities open up.
Yet, many of us choose to live the safe, comfortable and expected path. Does this sound like you? It doesn’t have to be. For some people, just contemplating stepping outside the safety net seems scary. For others, it seems uplifting. Many of us get caught up in our mundane lives, where we have predictability and comfort, instead of craving the unknown. Occasionally, we will look around and realise we are not happy with what we have and how we are living. Comfort does not always equal happiness. And exploring the unknown doesn’t have to be scary either. If you’re willing, you can create and design your life living in a totally different and unique way. You don’t have to fit the mould. Let 2016 be the year you awaken and discover your inner gift and let the transformation begin.
Peace, Love & Blessings.
